Monthly/Yearly Plan

OK, so once you have your Weekly Plan (http://homemanagementideas.blogspot.com/2007/01/weekly-management-plan.html), the next step is to come with a monthly plan. (I am saving the daily plan for last, because it's the most challenging.)
  1. What you need to do is get out a notebook or open up Excel and write down every chore that needs to be done in/around your house. Do not include daily chores or chores already in your weekly plan. This list is for those tasks that need to be done once a month or less frequently. It is so hard to remember these types of chores, but once you have this plan in place, it will be SUPER EASY.
  2. Next, go down the list and break the tasks up into easy daily tasks, that can be completed in about 10 min. For example, if you have "wash windows", break that up into washing 3 windows a day until that task is done. This is what makes this plan so easy. You won't dread too many of these chores.
  3. Next to each chore, write how often it needs to be done, monthly, bi-monthly, yearly, etc.
  4. Then, print out calendars (http://www.organizedhome.com/printable/showgallery.php?cat=503) for the next 6-12 months, and start plugging in daily tasks. You can do 4-6 a week, insert a "catch up" day each week, write down one task for each family member, etc. It helps to leave at least one day per week blank, so you can write in things as they come up. Keep it flexible- this is just a basic plan.
And it's that simple! This is my favorite part of the 3-part Home Management Plan. I will write about the third part, the Daily Plan, soon.

Here is my Yearly Plan list: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?id=o01033571272150291955.5944153999778780815.09181597382481944616.8109815668832382640&hl=en_US
